The Improv Playground (TIP) is a 5-week theater improvisation course by Lindenberg's Doe-het-zelf program and Dar al Yasmin. This beginners course is equipped with the essential elements of theater improvisation. It includes:

- Yes, And. This is the foundational principle of improvisation. It encourages us to collaborate and be creative with our own ideas and those of others. We will frequently use this element to prevent blocking or shutting down a scene or story.
- Spontaneity. Spoiler: there will not be time to prepare scenes in detail. We will go with the flow, allowing fresh ideas to surface and lead us to deeper layers of improvisation.
- Embracing ’’mistakes’’. This space invites all of us to let go of all the masks we might wear – ’’My idea needs to be original!’’, ’’I need to be coherent at all times!’’, ’’I have to sound knowledgeable!’’, ’’I must be very creative when I join this course!’’ NO! Come as you are. There is always something hidden deep within that might turn out to be a gem in the Improv world. Mistakes are allowed – even more, they are encouraged. After all, this is the best way we learn.
- Physicality. We will make use of our body language and the space around us to enhance what we create verbally.
- Adaptability. We will work on developing the ability to be flexible and ready to change direction when necessary.
- Active listening. To be able to co-create, we need to pay close attention to what the others are saying. We will practice conscious presence which will keep our senses engaged.

Bring your curiosity, playfulness, silliness, shyness, or anything else that either works well for you or is challenging. After all, this is a playground. Playgrounds are safe spaces to experiment!
