Lindenberg tipt: Storytelling Festival Nijmegen
Were do we belong in all of this?
- Theater
- Festival

Save the date for an intimate yet extra-long Storytelling Festival Nijmegen, from December 9 to 13, 2026.
Last year, we celebrated our 5th anniversary. After that, we started to wonder: what comes next? We looked back at our previous festivals. We looked at each other. And we looked at the world around us (yikes…).
It made us ask an important question: where do we belong in all of this?
This year, we explore the idea of belonging through stories, comedy and music. Join us at our temporary cultural home, De Werkplaats.
Programme Storytelling Festival Nijmegen 2026
09-12 > GURBET – OR HOW I BECAME RICH | SOULA NOTOS
Gurbet – or how I became rich is a personal and critical story about diaspora and living between different worlds. It is about always longing for somewhere, always being on your way, but never fully arriving.
10-12 > A TRAIL OF POMEGRANATE SEEDS | RASHA HILWI & SAHAND SAHEBDIVANI
Writer and journalist Rasha Hilwi and storyteller Sahand Sahebdivani share powerful stories about love and life. They talk about leaving their homelands and searching for a place where they belong. Their personal stories are mixed with songs and traditional tales.
11-12 > WILD CARD | MARTIN FONDSE & FEMI DAWKINS
Composer and pianist Martin Fondse and multidisciplinary artist Femi Dawkins explore the idea of the Wild Card: something unexpected that does not follow the usual rules and moves freely between different worlds.
12-12 > HOMESICK | HALIL CALISKAN
In his first full comedy show, Homesick, Halil Caliskan talks about living abroad. With sharp observations, funny stories and dark political humour, he explores what it means to live between different places and cultures.
13-12 > WELCOME | HERMES AHMADI
What is a human life worth? And what does it mean to feel that your life matters?
In his comedy show Welcome, Hermes Ahmadi explores these questions through stories from his own life.
Storytelling Festival is a production by Meneer Otis, with the support of Lindenberg Cultuurhuis and Gemeente Nijmegen.
